Such a cool concept: X Out DIY blogger project, to benefit anti-bullying!

Every so often, I’ll be browsing away online and I’ll find something super cool that my colleagues are doing. Today was one of those times, when I received an email about the The X Out DIY Dress Blogger Project – it’s in support of anti-bullying! See the adorable Sydne Summer, at left? She’s one of nine amazing DIY bloggers to create one-of-a-kind dresses, inspired by X Out (by the makers of Proactiv). The brand partnered with PACER’S National Center Bullying Prevention Center to help “X Out” bullying – 100% of the proceeds from this eBay auction will go to PACER’S! Want to check out the dresses? There’s some AWESOME ones – and the auction is right here: www.ebay.com/XOut PS: Want to be totally inspired?...

Turkey Day vs. Proactiv Advanced Blemish Treatment

Turkey Day vs. Proactiv Advanced Blemish Treatment

I am lucky enough to not break out terribly often – but as Murphy’s law would dictate, when it does happen, it’s normally at the most inopportune of times. So, of course, here we are Thanksgiving weekend – days before a week littered with holiday parties, and my skin starts to break out. What caused it this time? Who knows…there were a few nights early in the week that I came home late, and exhausted, skipped on properly cleansing my face. We all know sleeping in your makeup can clog pores.Pollution can also be quite evil, and there was one day right before Thanksgiving that I spent half the day on various crowded commuter trains. Oh, and I may have possibly eaten every single delicious fattening possible oil-having food available...

Attempting to Remove Layers of Plane Grime: Proactiv Deep Cleansing Wash

Attempting to Remove Layers of Plane Grime: Proactiv Deep Cleansing Wash

I really have never had an acne problem — I don’t now, and I didn’t growing up. (Thank you, heavens, for the genes that while not granting me a bodice, did grant me good skin.) However, there are things that trigger breakouts: Hormones, stress, travel, eating certain foods, and I did all of them over the last week when I was traveling. And so, this weekend, when I returned from my most recent trip, and saw the breakouts beginning, I knew that I needed to cleanse well. Proactiv had sent me their Deep Cleansing face and body wash a while back and I’ve been excited to try it – it’s meant to work everywhere – face, back, body, chest, shoulders — anywhere you want to cleanse your skin and fight acne.  It is formulated to...

Getting Me Through the Day: Proactiv Green Tea Moisturizer

Getting Me Through the Day: Proactiv Green Tea Moisturizer

Part of my (some may say over-excessive) travel is that I spend a lot of time in drying airplanes. I’ve been trying to conteract the damage – first, by drinking more water (and less coffee and alcohol) inflight, and second, by carrying my Proactiv Green Tea Moisturizer. It’s full of minerals and botanicals that promise to keep even acne-prone skin hydrated and healthy – even interesting stuff like Iris Florentina which helps to repair aging skin, reduce appearance of wrinkles, and help to repair skin before it weakens.  It’s also non-comedogenic, so it won’t block pores – something else I’m a fan of. I never break out more than when I travel. I’ve been using it pretty regularly this past week and I’m already...
