This morning, I wrote a rather dramatic post about trying to get back on the fitness “horse” — get ready for a whole bunch of horse analogies because I’m going to the Belmont Stakes this weekend! — and it is something I’m super serious about. But said horses come in many stripes, and I keep on being reminded that my stripes are not gym colored. Don’t get me wrong, I love group fitness classes — Zumba, yoga, etc — drop-in classes or even package deals at your favorite spots or with your favorite instructors. But the gym? Again and again, I’m questioning if it’s the place for me. We’ve all been there — it can be SUPER hard to motivate ourselves to get to the gym — especially when...Read More
I’m not speaking of THAT kind of sweat sesh, you guys. Technically, we should not be worried about how we look while at the gym. We should be working hard, sweating, feeling the burn – yada, yada, yada. But we ARE still girls, and we should always look good for ourselves. And the off chance that we meet Mr. Right walking in or walking out…even better? I just wrote a roundup for LovingYou.com that includes my favorite adorable fitness attire – the sneakers, yoga pants, ruffled tanks, and more that I swear by and wear on my own gym jaunts (as infrequent as they sometimes may be.) I’d love if you shared some of your favorite adorable gym finds as...Read More

Well, sorta. Update on my healthy living journey: A month into cutting out refined sugars and working out 3-4 times a week, I’m down 12 pounds (about 1/3 of the way to my goal), and feeling better than I have in ages. It seemed appropriate to celebrate by going to (God, you guys won’t even believe this), a fitness festival in Atlantic City for the weekend. Headlined by Jillian Michaels, Sweat AC was a 3-day health and wellness event held this past weekend in Atlantic City, featuring workshops, lectures, an expo center, and a full roster of classes taught by some of the biggest celebrity fitness instructors in the country. My friend Kristin and I had taken Jillian’s bodyshred class at CRUNCH Gym last month, so I had a vague idea of what to expect...Read More
This Week in my ‘healthier me’ journey: Jillian Michaels’ BODYSHRED, Zumba Convention, and At-Home Workout Pack GIVEAWAY with Boomchickapop!
The last month, as I’ve finally been back on my feet (so to speak), I’ve been working really hard at living a healthier life — emotionally, of course, but also what I eat, and how I take care of my body. I went from never exercising at all to going to 3-4 fitness-related classes a week — and some have been pretty hard core! Last week, my bestie Kristin and I went to a pretty incredible class – Jillian Michaels herself taught the sneak peek class to her new BODYSHRED, a new group fitness class she created for Crunch Gym that will be launching this fall. The new workout, utilizes Jillian’s 3-2-1 approach, and it was intense. The sneak peek class was “only” about 30 minutes, which made my crazy brain think it would be a...Read More
