Pink Martini Emerson Embassy Ruffle Coat

Pink Martini Emerson Embassy Ruffle Coat

The coat search continues. When I was younger, my mother showed me her full-length camel coat, and I was smitten (except it was in a tiny size I can now not even hope to fit into). Indeed, the camel coat is timeless, as is my love for it –  and if you can up the cuteness factor, even better yet. Behold Pink Martini precious ruffled slim cut Emerson Embassy Ruffle Coat ($168). Do I need it? Obviously. The price is right, and how can any man who passes my path NOT love me with flirty full ruffles encircling my bodice? It’s like a mating call, I tell...

Have I Found a Winner?: EmersonMade London Coat

Have I Found a Winner?: EmersonMade London Coat

As you’ve all seen for the past week or so, I’m on a perpetual search for my next winter coat. I’ve looked high and low – and coveted a lot I can’t afford (and felt so-so about some things that actually are in my price range). The Search For a Coat Continues: Topshop Textured Wool Duffle Coat

Thank God an intrinsic part of my job is random browsing of online shopping destinations. Were this not true, my perpetual search for a new winter coat would really be putting on damper on my job productivity. Today, I came across this Topshop Textured Wool Duffle Coat ($140) — to be honest, it’s not a color I’d necessarily be drawn to usually, but I’m attracted to the warmth and classic style. And, speaking of warmth – in the body heat sense – burgundy is a warm color – in the shading sense. I think it would brighten up my face, and just may be a kick of color that my black-and-gray wardrobe could handle. Is it the answer? Who knows…I’m not sure I’m ready to discontinue the search quite yet, but it just...

Fall Shopping: Free People Victorian Wool Maxi Coat

Fall Shopping: Free People Victorian Wool Maxi Coat

Believe it or not not, Fall is en route — and that means it’s an acceptable time to start thinking about a new coat. Obviously, I’m not made of money — even still, this Victorian Wool Maxi Coat ($268) by Free People is speaking to me in all sorts of ways. Don’t you agree, it would be a pretty dramatic piece to add to my faull wardrobe? It’s just so VICTORIAN, and reminds me  of a time of kings and queens, and knights and ladies, and frilly skirts and boys pulling down my petticoats… Wait, that was just the dream I had last night. Moving on… Back in the day, a lady would have to button all those buttons one by one. I don’t have time for such luxuries, obviously. I’ll happily substitute authenticity for a...
