Surviving the Wilderness in Cougar Women’s Portico Snow Boot

Boots? Snow? Isn’t it a bit early for that?

Yes, but I got a preview, and thank GOD I was prepared.

(Actually, thank Cougar.)

A few weeks ago, I was on a press trip in Maine (the home of the best crustaceans in the nation) and suddenly, I found myself thrust into winter weather.
Good thing for me, I had packed a pair Portico snow boots Cougar had sent me to try out, and I wound up living in them all three days of the trip.
There’s a lot I love about these boots — they are understated – they don’t scream I AM HERE SO YOU DON’T FALL TO YOUR DEATH IN THE SNOW, but that works on several levels – you can easily adapt them to non-snow weather, but also enjoy them in ugly cold weather. (Not that Maine was ugly, it was actually quite beautiful.)
It has a great side zipper, which means that even though they look cool and lace-up, you don’t have to actually unlace your laces and worry about them being untied at dangerous times, and also have a rubber sole, also great for slippery slopes. I mean streets.
That said, I be perfectly happy if none of these said weather conditions occurred, and I was just wearing these boots because they happen to be adorable (which they are!).
