Giveaway: Young Adult prize package

It seems appropriate for me to spend a beautiful Saturday night penning a blog post about Young Adult.

The film, which stars Charlize Theron  – memorably mean and bitter as we’ve never seen her — who plays a frustrated drunken and slutty writer whose fame is not nearly what she wishes it were.

Note, I don’t remotely relate to *any* of this. At least not the slutty part. Sigh. However, you’ll love this film as an engaging fable that’s delightfully awkward, and just a touch bitter – much like being said young adult.

Young Adult arrives at Movies on Demand on March 13 (this Tuesday), and to get you excited, we have a Young Adult prize pack with all the elements you need to stay “young”, that includes:

What stand out most to me as a young adult was the recklessness and carefree way I lived my life. I thought I was invincible . I could do anything. I wish I fouls still feel some of that now.

What I remember the most about being a young adult was how vulnerable and ignorant I was, and how much I trusted people that I should not have. I also remember how people dressed back then compared to now. Things have changed, but not really for the better. Now that I am an “older” young adult, pushing middle age, I know what I want out of life but it is a consistent learning process.

What stands out most to me is the times I had with my friends. Going out to bars, going shopping with my girlfriends, and having less things to worry about. When your a young adult life is so much more carefree. I like to say I miss those days, even though I’m still a younger adult I have a lot more things going on. I’m a mom now and I worry constantly. I miss that sense of self, only really caring about yourself and doing whatever you wanted.

My main memories (even though I’m STILL what you would call a young adult) are my friends. I remember the fun things we did and said and the crazy “adventures” we went on.

I would say, what seems to stand out most (probably because of the surprise that comes with being naive) is the surprising rewrites. I guess you think you know who you are and where you are going and that is what life is… then it isn’t lol. Life is not necessarily the story-line you thought you were traveling down and that was interesting to realize again and again… and again as a young adult. We are a rewrite everyday.

My favorite part of being a young adjult was my twelve years of playing in a rock and roll band. It never made me famous, but I had alot of fun!

What stands out for me as a young adult was that feeling of how incredibly mature I was when in fact, looking back, I can see how absolutely immature I really was!

I remember being carefree and spontaneous as a young adult. But with age comes responsibility! My years as a young adult are some of the best memories of my life!

What I remember the most is making my own way. I married and started a family young, so I went from being under my parent’s wings directly to learning and living on my own. Lots of mistakes, some major successes, and memories I wouldn’t trade for the world.

I remember having that feeling of being invincible, that I could do anything I want. Even though I know that’s still true it’s harder to believe it!

what stands out in my memory is thinking I was entitled to do whatever I wanted, and trying my parents patience, especially when I was trying to get over on them thinking they would never catch me ~ like smoking, coming in after 3 am, going to places I was told not to~ and so many more stupid things that I did and thought was invisible as a young adult, I do regret it but it taught me how to be wise to my kids and knowing when they were trying to get over on me, I eventually moved out at 17 because I didnt approve of “their” rules and that was just dumb when I look back at it now, lessons learned the hard way
    Thank for the great giveaway

My memories of being a young woman bring to mind my college roommates. Over 40 years later, all four of us stay in touch and are still friends. Even as a young adult, I knew I had met special people who would stay in my life forever.

While I did meet some amazing people while I was a young adult, you couldn’t pay me enough to go back to that crazy time in my life. I sometimes think anyone under the age of 25 should live in a mental institution! Just kidding- but that’s how I felt back then. :)

In retrospect having to make major decisions about life such as education, careers, marriage and child rearing that effected the greater portion of my life is what most stands out as being a young adult. You think you have all the answers when you hadn’t lived long enough to fully understand the question. Thus I sometimes wonder what would have, could have or should have been had I based those decisions on what I know now.

I have wonderful memories of being a young adult. Not a care in the world, full of energy and life. My life has been a good one . I remember being able to run and exercise endlessly. I was physically fit. I am still running, but not as fast!

I remember being very impulsive and I did alot of stupid things to get or keep men, which I know realize was stupid and unnecessary. I did have a better body then and a was happy, and at times carefree, which I would love to feel again

Well I wish I could go back!! I felt happy, healthy, vibrant, had loads of plans and felt like I had the world by the horns as the saying goes, I just remember that I felt I didn’t have a care in the world, now that is only a flash memory as well as the rest of me, oh my, I think I just had an ah ha moment!!! I figured I knew it all and as an adult that hasn’t changed, haha:) Seriously to feel that way one more time would be the greatest gift I could ever asked for!
