Retinol products and the danger of use when waxing

Earlier this week, I wrote an article for SheKnows discussing the danger of mixing retinol products with our favorite waxing treatments.

At the time, I was in Tel Aviv — some may say, the South Beach of Israel, enjoying 90+ temps and anticipating seeing much of the same in my planned trip to Jamaica next week.

Well, I’m no longer going to Jamaica — change of plans — and I ended up getting burned in Tel Aviv (in more ways than one) — but the realization while there (and perhaps the impetus behind the article) was that we had a lot of work to do to sun-bask among the young and half-naked.

So, what do we do? We use retinol to reduce the signs of aging, and waxing so we don’t look like a hairy huntress while on the prowl. To choose between feels wrong…but if doing both is dangerous, do we have a choice? Well, we do have options — and I interviewed some of my favorite dermatologists and skincare experts to get their intel on how to navigate these conflicting skin (and LIFE) needs!

What do you think?
