Sponsored Post: Beano Dairy Defense Back on the Menu Challenge

amplehillsA few weeks ago, I was challenged to take the Beano challenge — eat foods that are normally off limits to me, and see if the Beano Dairy Defense made  a difference.

Prestige Brands, makers of Beano®, recently conducted a survey where they discovered the majority of women respondents (75 percent) said foods such as vegetables, beans, whole grains and dairy are an issue for them because they can cause digestive issues. Beano® + Dairy Defense™ gives you the freedom to eat the foods you want and those that are good for you, without worrying about the uncomfortable symptoms they can cause.

I’m a unique case because I travel for work most of the time — I honestly don’t often have a lot of say in where I’ll end up eating, or what options will be available to me. This has been monstrous for my weight issues, but also I’ve been a victim of many uncomfortable evenings in a hotel where I ate what I shouldn’t eat, and paid the price.

While obviously the most perfect place to experiment would have been on this week’s epic trip to Australia and New Zealand, you really don’t want to test these kind of waters on foreign ground. So, on a recent date night with my best friend, we went out for ice cream at Ample Hills, a local creamery in Brooklyn that makes the absolute best in homemade ice cream flavors and concoctions.

My friends think I don’t like ice cream. I do, it’s just I’m always afraid to have it. Sometimes, I can get away with it problem free — usually if I’ve had a few glasses of wine at dinner and am in a very good place emotionally (stress-free, etc) – other times though, it’s a disaster not worth the trouble of having had it – even if the ice cream IS half Mexican Hot Chocolate, half Salted Caramel Crack and Pretzel. I’m not lactose intolerant to an extreme, I’m more lactose sensitive – but you never know when the sensitivity is going to come out. Certain foods – creamy sauces, ice cream, sour cram, are absolute triggers.

This time though, I took a Beano Dairy Defense before my meal, and then lived like a normal dairy-eating person. Beano +Dairy Defense™ tablets have two natural food enzymes that break down complex carbohydrates and lactose found in dairy products, which cause all those icky problems we don’t want to talk about in polite company. But just take one tablet before your meal so that foods will be easier to digest– and it’s like magic.

So, I’m hooked — it feels like I have so much more freedom to eat what I want and not feel scared of the results. I’m so hooked I have an exciting giveaway coming up — stay tuned!
