Think bigger picture (Hope Love Win) This Mother’s Day

Even though I’d just gotten back from Hawaii hours before, I jumped at the chance to attend the WIN (Women in Need) benefit gala last night at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.

It’s not the first time I’ve attended the gala, and I’ll continue to — and support WIN – because it’s such an amazing cause.

Posey RingNew York City has 52,585 homeless people, and 80% of NYC homeless are women and children. In the past year, the number of homeless children increased by 8%, reaching an all-time high in January 2014 of 22,712. WIN is among the largest non-profits serving homeless families, Win houses almost 10% of the homeless families in NYC and every night, WIN provides shelter and services for a combined total of 3,400 women and their children. WIN has nine family shelters in Manhattan, the Bronx and Brooklyn, with individual family units housing more than 800 homeless families each night.

This Mother’s Day, choose gifts of HOPE LOVE WIN for all of the special moms in your life — unique gifts that will also benefit the hundreds of moms currently living in Win shelters with their children. Or, you can sponsor a gift for a homeless mom that will make her Mother’s Day truly meaningful.

If you are looking for ways to donate for Mother’s Day, there’s tons of options (just check out that link at left), and pretty items to invest in, like this Posey Ring Necklace at Lord & Taylor. And don’t forget to check otu the  @WINNYC_ORG  #HopeLoveWin Twitter Party tomorrow afternoon: Thursday May 8, 1pm ET.
