My experiences with the 2014 Toyota Corolla (and this week’s new articles!)
This week, I escaped New York for a precious 24 hours to attend a Toyota event in Miami. (Yes, I went to Florida FOR THE DAY, it would be jet-setter if I wasn’t so exhausted) — and aside from finding a few precious moments to reconnect with a few dear friends, I also had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the 2014 Toyota Corolla.
Now, I KNOW what you may be thinking — I thought you don’t drive??? — this is technically sorta true. But I CAN drive — in fact I have a blemish-free license! – and if I was going to leave New York City and be in an environment where a car was more possible, the Toyota Corolla would be up there with my potential options.
Truth be told, I look at cars as a girl. I know nothing from torque or horsepower. I understand things like style and safety. So, I comprehend (and appreciate) that the L features LED headlights, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and USB/iPod interface. The LE features a 6-inch touchscreen display and rearview camera. Things like bluetooth connectivity and heated front seats and a navigation system as well as the Toyota’s Entune system with App Suite are something that appeal to even my girlie-car knowledge.
It’s sleek and athletic — and even though of late I am neither of those things — I know those are features that are good. Also, it starts at just $17,610 — which while still a massive crapload of money to my logic is a lot better than most of the other options out there that i’ve encountered. (So, sleek, reliable and one of my most affordable options — that’s why I’d be into it!) — plus, the app suite includes OpenTable. You can make dinner reservations FROM YOUR DASHBOARD. If that’s not innovative, I don’t know what it is.
More of my Toyota impressions will be coming soon, on SheKnows!
Coming this week: I’m going to the backwoods of Kentucky to hang out with Buick and drink bourbon. (Obviously the evaluation of cars and the bourbon will happen at different times.)
And in between flying southeast for a dose of cars and humidity, here’s some of my new articles this week:
