How gorgeous is Princess Madeleine of Sweden’s Valentino wedding gown?

How gorgeous is Princess Madeleine of Sweden’s Valentino wedding gown?

Obviously, we all worship Kate…but there’s some other fabulous princesses deserving our love as well. Behold Princess Madeleine of Sweden, who was married last week to New York banker Christopher O’Neill. (Yes, a commoner! It’s the vogue, now, you know!) She wore a beautiful Valentino wedding gown. (Check out a sketch of the dress at left!) The wedding dress was made from from silk organdies and ivory Chantilly lace and included a four meter long train and a six meter long veil. Princess Madeleine also wore a royal tiara decorated with fresh orange blossoms. Oh, to be a princess! What’s your favorite royal wedding...

FEED and Rachel Roy Partner for Feed 100 India Bag

FEED and Rachel Roy Partner for Feed 100 India Bag

It’s distinctly difficult to envision the hunger suffered throughout the world — especially among children — during holiday weekends, when we are all actively embracing gluttony. And while Americans will probably not cease said gluttony any time soon, maybe we can balance out our own excess in any small way we can, such as purchasing a cute bag that just happens to help fight child hunger. Rachel Roy and Lauren Bush’s FEED have partnered to create the FEED 100 India Bag to fight child hunger in India. Each bag helps to provide 100 school meals to children in India, and if you need to balance out that awesomeness with pure aesthetics, the bags are handmade and blocked printed by Indian artisans. The bags are made with 100% cotton fabric and...

Need this: Rainshader Umbrella Does Not Blow Inside Out During Strong Winds!

Need this: Rainshader Umbrella Does Not Blow Inside Out During Strong Winds!

True story: I MISPLACED MY RAIN COAT. Yes. I just spent three days in Rhode Island on a press trip (2 of which were windy and rainy, one of which was super warm and resulted in an unappealing burn) and I couldn’t take any sort of rain jacket with me because I couldn’t find mine in my tiny apartment. Shouldn’t be so hard! Especially frustrating since I JUST published a rain gear essentials piece last week. I should be on top of these things! At a loss of what to do, I ended up taking my winter coat with me — my hooded winter coat, to protect the hair — and sweltering my way through the soupy weather. It was not the answer. Neither, though, was my adorable pink (small but not very functional in high winds) mini umbrella, which was easy...

Tiffany Creates The Savoy Headpiece for The Great Gatsby

Tiffany Creates The Savoy Headpiece for The Great Gatsby

I may have not mentioned it before but I’ve been counting down The Great Gatsby for MONTHS. I think everything about this film will be fabulous, and that is not just limited to everything else that is not the fact that Tiffany designers crafted this headpiece in platinum for The Great Gatsby. Daisy Buchanan, played by Carey Mulligan, wears the headpiece, called The Savoy, in the upcoming film. The headpiece was inspired by Baz Luhrmann’s film in collaboration with Catherine Martin. It is a diamond and freshwater cultured pearl headpiece with detachable brooch, and absolutely gorgeous. The headpiece is also featured in the 2013 Blue Book collection. You can find the headpiece here on tiffany.com. It costs $200,000. Time to up that credit...

Can you feel sexy during a sweat sesh?

Can you feel sexy during a sweat sesh?

I’m not speaking of THAT kind of sweat sesh, you guys. Technically, we should not be worried about how we look while at the gym. We should be working hard, sweating, feeling the burn  – yada, yada, yada. But we ARE still girls, and we should always look good for ourselves. And the off chance that we meet Mr. Right walking in or walking out…even better? I just wrote a roundup for LovingYou.com that includes my favorite adorable fitness attire – the sneakers, yoga pants, ruffled tanks, and more that I swear by and wear on my own gym jaunts (as infrequent as they sometimes may be.) I’d love if you shared some of your favorite adorable gym finds as...

How do you define your walking shoes?

How do you define your walking shoes?

When I’m on press tours with other travel writers, we often come from wildly different backgrounds and living situations. Inevitably, all — from anywhere that is not New York City — seem amazed that I: 1 – Don’t drive. 2 – Live in a 4th-floor walkup (and still manage to live my life and grocery shop) 3 – Really do walk everywhere. 4 – Yes, cabs are expensive. That’s why I hardly ever take them. EVER. Unless I’m carrying a load of heavy bags, it’s very late at night, or I’m drunk and keeping safety in mind. It’s true. It’s probably the only reason I’m not much heavier than I am – the only way to exist in our reality is to do a whole lot of walking. The issue is that I...

My fellow wanderlust(ers) will adore this Mary Katrantzou and Current/Elliott collaboration

My fellow wanderlust(ers) will adore this Mary Katrantzou and Current/Elliott collaboration

Passport stamps are like my THING. I’m rather annoyed when you fly to a country and have a connection in another country and don’t have to get your passport stamped. Crazy? Maybe. But it’s all about adding to my “collection” — and my collection is so impressive that I had to have extra pages added to my passport. And I know many of my travel writer friends feel very much the same way, so they just may love that Mary Katrantzou and Current/Elliott have partnered for a new collection inspired by the colorful Katrantzou spring/summer 2013 collection, which featured print designs using money, flowers and postage stamps! The collection can be found here on my-wardrobe.com, and ranges from $350.63 to $714.99. Carmen Borgonovo,...

Sophie Dahl’s lost weekend

Sophie Dahl’s lost weekend

Interestingly, I returned from my own lost weekend in Vegas — more on that soon! — to read  The Telegraph report that Sophie Dahl has created a capsule collection for Brora called The Lost Weekend!  The collection features 13 pieces and they are looking quite classic yet comfortable —  including a Marilyn marl jumper inspired by Brigitte Bardot, a tea dress, shawl collar cardigan, English rose maxi skirt , a tunic, Marilyn cigarette trousers and more, all in my own favorite shades of pink and gray. Sophie says in a statement, “The Lost Weekend was born first with the image of a place, tangled and wild quintessentially British. It was an island, after the rain, with the sun beating down on washed out florals and battered silks. They...

Wolford Rock ‘N’ Rose Tights

Wolford Rock ‘N’ Rose Tights

Maybe it’s my four-days-till-Vegas countdown, but suddenly I’ve been thrust headfirst into a all-bling all the time fantasy world. As the sequins and glitter flutter out of my suitcase, my heart is literally BLOOMING over these Wolford Rock ‘N’ Rose Tights ($54). Aren’t they ridiculously hot? Wouldn’t I be super hot IN them? (Most important aspect, obviously.) I feel like I’m kind of going a little bit primal, you guys..

Finding myself in summer dress mode (way too soon?)

Finding myself in summer dress mode (way too soon?)

I did some shopping today, looking for a dress for the upcoming wedding of one of my dear friends. I did find a few options — and actually bought TWO dresses because I was unsure which way to go. (Won’t explore further here since said friend may be reading this and I’m sure she’s deeply concerned with MY dress for HER wedding) – but I found myself, as per usual, being distracted. One source of distraction was this  Dip Hem Dress ($363) from House of Holland. It’s barely out of winter here in New York city – today skyrocketed to a balmy 45, and we were in heaven — but in my mind, I’m already on the boardwalk, drinking iced cocktails. In reality land, I’ll be in Vegas in a few days — and there,...
