Just in time for fall, design your own Uggs!

Just in time for fall, design your own Uggs!

I’ve been telling my friends all week that I’m happier about the whole status of my life since boot season has started. We’ll ignore that tights let me compress a fair amount of excess flesh, but in general, tights/boots season just make me feel so much more attractive! (Related reading: Check out my new article for The Fashion Spot  –– How to Shop Boots for Wide Calves — and some of my favorite styles!) But as it continues to get chillier, I may not be AS into the weather patterns — I’ll still want my boots though. I think it’s pretty adorable (and holiday season timely!) that Ugg Australia now lets us customize our Ugg boots and flip flops.  Ugg by You, is available for the UGG Class Short sheepskin boot...

A wedding gown inspired by The Little Mermaid!

A wedding gown inspired by The Little Mermaid!

Obviously, I’m not getting married any time…ever — but if I was, I’D BE OBSESSED with this dress. Alfred Angelo designed the Ariel-inspired wedding gown for the 2014 Disney Fairy Tale Weddings collection to time with the release of The Little Mermaid Diamond Edition on Blu-ray and features a sweetheart neckline and bodice made of hand-tacked, draped organza over satin. My favorite part though is the vertical rows of organza ruffles edged with silk ribbon and metallic embroidery. The Disney Fairy Tale Bridal collection can be found here on alfredangelo.com, with prices ranging from $599 to $1,199. Isn’t it incredible? Does anyone know where I can find a groom to go with...

How fierce is this coat?

How fierce is this coat?

I’m not really ready to go full-hog into winter mode, but let us take a second to behold Raquel Zimmermann as the face of the Bottega Veneta Fall 2013 campaign. She’s wearing a double red twill wool cashmere coat in this image, and even though, at well over 3K, it costs roughly three months rent, I’m incredibly enamored. Think about it: Were I to be homeless, this coat would keep me warm, no?

Giveaway: Win a $50 Gift Card to The Limited!

Y’all, I’m all about birthdays, even if they aren’t mine. And so I’m excited that The Limited is turning 50 and in celebration of its Golden Anniversary, the brand is launching a multi-faceted campaign focused on helping women succeed. This involves sorts of celebrations including a special initiative to support Dress for Success — an organization I hugely believe in that  offers professional apparel, support and career development tools to women who are entering or re-entering the work force. To raise funds for this amazing organization, The Limited is inviting women to share their success stories/life lessons (both personal and professional) online at www.thelimited.com/50th. The company will donate $1 to Dress for Success for...

Yes, you can fall in love with a car (and still be girlie)

Yes, you can fall in love with a car (and still be girlie)

For some reason unbeknownst to me, this always felt somewhat antithetical. I’d go on press trips now and then that were vehicle-centric, and marvel at the demographics. Beauty may be an estrogen fest, but tech and cars? It’s all boys, all the time. That alone was reason to be into the pursuit of journalism. But as I (albeit very slowly, I confess) started to actually understand a bit of what I was learning, I realized there’s a whole lot out there for even the least auto-comprehending of ladies to appreciate about cars. And, yes, I’m toeing the line of a stereotype I shudder to adhere to, but sometimes issues like adorable colors and trunk space means a heck of a lot to me. Check out my new article for SheKnows — a guide to our...

WANT: Kenneth Cole Partners With Kinky Boots for Capsule Shoe Collection

WANT: Kenneth Cole Partners With Kinky Boots for Capsule Shoe Collection

Ever since seeing at snippet of Kinky Boots at the Tony Awards, it’s been at the top of my list of must-see plays. But even aside from that (and thinking Cyndi Lauper is the epitome of awesome), I love…well…awesome boots. So, color me happy (and my credit cards even more unhappy than they already were), that Kenneth Cole has partnered with Kinky Boots for a capsule shoe collection. Following consultation with Kinky Boots costume designer, Gregg Barnes, Kenneth Cole has also designed the red high heel pump featured in the opening act of the show. The collection features three styles: A red patent leather peep-toe pump as well as two versions of a knee-high boot – one in black and white leopard, and one in black patent. Both of the knee-high...

Um, hello: MANGO Animal Print Slim-Fit Trousers

Um, hello: MANGO Animal Print Slim-Fit Trousers

Because animal-print anything tends to make me happy, check out these  Animal Print Slim-Fit Trousers  from MANGO($60). I envision it a fuchsia tank top and big waves…I just worry it may be a teensy bit of a Peg Bundy channel going on. But who cares? She’s totally fabulous, and so are these trousers! I’d love to pair it with cat-eye shades — Zac Posen x Illesteva III Safari Sunglasses ($295). They are STUNNERS, but too much of a good thing all at once? I don’t know…what do you all...

Mexico Packing List: Geometric Print Pleated Dress

Mexico Packing List: Geometric Print Pleated Dress

There was a time my friends teased me that I was ALWAYS in Mexico. It’s true — after the Mexican tourism dipped a few years ago due to various world factors (some of which were not even entirely valid), there was a whole lot of press trips to the area. I love Mexico – the people, the sites, the food, and I went often. However, since my mini hiatus from the world (which was actually somewhat launched with fainting into barracuda infested waters in Riveria Maya), my run of Mexico visits has been halted — that’s why I’m so excited to be going back next month. And, as per usual for me, I’m already planning what to pack. I’m all about this  White Sleeveless Geometric Print Pleated Dress($29). The price is right —...

Making it personal with Boy Meets Girl

Making it personal with Boy Meets Girl

I write a lot about “personal” aspects of boys and girls. Especially MY personal …boys and girls aspects. No worries, this isn’t one of those posts! Boy Meets Girl USA enquired if I’d write a post about how I may personalize one of their hoodies — and I was ALL about that. There’s nothing like fashion items made especially for you. Hell, there’s nothing like ANYTHING that’s especially for you, and I’ve always been into Stacy Igel’s collection, which captures the innocent spark between boy and girl with vintage cameos. I may play up being the edgy slightly-risky modern girl, but at my heart, I’m really a vintage kind of lady, waiting to be courted. Imagine the love possibilities –anything...

Totally not boohooing over Boohoo

Totally not boohooing over Boohoo

Sorry, you guys, couldn’t resist — the name is just TOO adorable.) Anyway, my lady love Bryce and I had attended a Boohoo.com lunch a few weeks ago. I went into the lunch pretty sure I was going to be a fan because: 1 – The name is just too cute for words. 2 – They originate from the UK (as does most everything I love in the universe) 3 – And the dresses they sent me to try out? Adorable. All with a price point cheaper than my average happy hour. 4 – Also, they fed us. Feeding me always puts me in a good mood. (But that’s beside the point and I digress) On-trend affordable fashions is my jam — I don’t make a lot of money, but I love having a lot of wardrobe options. (It’s a problem, ask anyone who faced...
