Relay for Life

Every so often, it’s necessary to put aside the exploration of oversexed hair or vino to do something a little more important.

A very good friend of mine is co-chairing a committee that will be bringing the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event to the Park Slope section of Brooklyn for the very first time.

Relay for Life is an organization that uses community building in order to help raise money to fight against cancer, and also help those currently living with disease. Everyone I know has someone who they’ve lost to cancer, or knows someone who is living as a survivor. Relay for life is an opportunity to honor these people.

I will be captaining a team at this June’s Relay for Life event. (Team name TBA…feel free to suggest. We can be bought.) If you live in the NY-area, we’d love to have new and old friends participate. And if you can’t participate, any donation will go a long way.

We’re also in the process of planning a fund raising benefit in the next month or so. More info to come!

We now return you to vino.

Tomorrow: Recap of the International Beauty Show!
