Barbie (and a certain someone else) is ready for an Outback adventure

Every so often, I imagine it knows how it feels  when a bird has her wings clipped.

So used to flying about, visiting amazing places in the name of journalism, that I feel curiously stagnated of late. It never really gets any better, you know…in fact, as time goes on, I get more restless…more frustrated with it all.

Much as I hate to spend my Friday evening quote John Mayer, I can’t help but relate:

This is a call to the color-blind
This is an IOU
I’m stranded behind a horizon line
Tried to be something true

Yes, I’m grounded
Got my wings clipped
I’m surrounded (by)
All this pavement
Guess I’ll circle
While I’m waiting
For my fears to dry

Someday I’ll fly
Someday I’ll soar
Someday I’ll be something much more
Cause I’m bigger than my body gives me credit for

And, perhaps, as per usual, I have a little something in common with my (obsessively) beloved Barbie – because she, too, is ready for an adventure. The Australia Barbie Doll is ready for a trip to the Outback — and who isn’t. Have you ever heard the accent of the men of Australia? Amazing.

She wears safari outfit with a linen khaki skirt, button-down top and animal-print belt — I may be able to rock this as well, granted without her particular measurements – and Australia Barbie accessorizes with brown boots, brimmed hat and crossbody bag. Barbie even has a little Koala friend clinging to her arm!!! Obviously I need that as well.

The Australia Barbie is sold here on BarbieCollector.com for $29.95. And, obviously, I’m ordering it at this very moment.

Love me some Australia! That’s why I’m Diver “Sheila”. And Sheila was my beloved Australian Shepherd poochie.
