Steal the Look: Felicity Jones at the Premiere of Theory of Everything

Steal the Look: Felicity Jones at the Premiere of Theory of Everything

Celebrity makeup artist Sabrina Bedrani created the look for Felicity Jones for the red carpet premiere of The Theory of Everything. “Felicity is wearing a black gown with the top and bottom in lace, so we wanted to create a look that was more edgy with a strong smokey eye – not too romantic as to contrast the lace,” Bedrani says. Here’s how to steal the look: Bedrani started by applying the Orlane Absolute Skin Recovery Care Anti-Fatigue Serum to her skin.  “This serum was perfect for today because we’ve been doing press for 4 days and with having makeup on and off, on and off, the skin can get a little dull.  Right after applying this serum, I felt the skin plumping up and the makeup went on so much smoother.  I followed by applying...

Steal the Look: Jordana Brewster at the Hammer Museum Gala

Steal the Look: Jordana Brewster at the Hammer Museum Gala

For any of you going through steal the look withdrawal, here’s a good one for you: Celebrity Makeup Artist Jamie Greenberg worked with Jordana Brewster this weekend for the Hammer Museum Gala in Los Angeles. “The inspiration for the look was mysterious fall. With the change in seasons, I wanted to move away from lighter and airier looks and incorporate fall shades. A darker eye was the perfect complement to Jordana’s dress,” Greenberg said. How to get the look from Jamie Greenberg: Eyes: Started with an eye primer as a base. Then took the light gold shades from the mark. Eye Dream of Glam Palette and placed them all over the lid and crease. Next, I took the black shade from the same palette and smoked out the corner of her eye. I reinforced the dark...

Giveaway: Vosges Chocolates and Scribd 3-Month Membership

Every so often, a friend or colleague will ask me what I like to read. I think they assume I’m going to say something very different than the reality. I’m obsessed with naughty romances. In fact, always have been. When I was a teen, I would be at the library weekly, loading up on Harlequin novels. That paired with my love of soap operas is probably why I have such a distorted idea of sex and romance. Wait, you mean we didn’t get drenched in sweat and scream out in passion last night? WHY THE HELL NOT? When your first introduction to sex is through romantic fiction, you have a very distorted reality of what is “normal” in passion. I’m way past my teenage years, but still love romance. Be it historical, supernatural, or down and...

AHAVA Dead Sea Osmoter Concentrate Serum

AHAVA Dead Sea Osmoter Concentrate Serum

I actually came across AHAVA sort of backwards. Years ago, I was on a Birthright Israel trip and we spent one afternoon at the Dead Sea. It’s so funny how recent it feels when it was well over a decade ago. Anyway, I remember being blown away at how amazing my skin felt following our Dead Sea foray, and then — years before I was a beauty girl — I became obsessed with finding products that contain Dead Sea minerals, and came across AHAVA. Now, I’m a bit older, and have a bit more products in my arsenal, and I still love AHAVA, who have just released a serum that promises to recharge, rehydrate, and illuminate. I’ve been using the AHAVA Dead Sea Osmoter for about a week, it’s a unique concentrated serum helps rehydrate your skin...

Video: Learn How To Make Crock Pot Baked Potatoes! (And a giveaway!)

You know that saying about if you can, do, and if you can’t, teach? The following video is something of an illustration of such. I’m at my parents for Rosh Hashonah, and as my mother has something like 8 burners going, cooking — I was assigned BAKED POTATOES. In a desperate attempt to make it seem a lot more epic than it actually is, I have illustrated my cooking process in the below video. Believe it or not, you don’t have to use the oven to make baked potatoes – you can make rather fabulous ones IN A CROCK POT. Truth is, I’m a Crock Pot junkie (I also can make a mean Crock Pot fried chicken if you want that to be my next video demo!), and Crock-Pot  is getting ready to launch its annual consumer contest — the Ultimate...

My Rain Bonnet Has Gone Modern

My Rain Bonnet Has Gone Modern

I don’t think it comes as any surprise that I’m immoderately obsessed with my hair. Blame my mom (my inspiration in most things), but I’ll risk life and limb to protect a blowout. True story: My mom once shattered an elbow running to beat out the rain. It’s her only broken bone ever. And while I’ve had many non-hair-related injuries, in the situation, I’d have done the same. Because of this — bones aren’t very easy to fix, you guys! — we’ve been trained to carry disposable shower caps with us at all times. And I do. They are in my purse. I take them out on a rainy day, in case a hotel bathroom has a shoddy shower cap situation, at a dentist office, on water rides…really, you never fully know when...
