Steal the Look: Kate Upton at the MTV Movie Awards

Steal the Look: Kate Upton at the MTV Movie Awards

Always a bombshell (couldn’t resist!), Kate Upton looked hot last night at the MTV Movie Awards, in a style created by Peter Butler for Moroccanoil. “When envisioning the hair look that I wanted to create to compliment Kate’s Versace mini-dress, I was inspired by the works of Helmut Newton and Guy Bourdin as well as the strong and powerful 80’s woman a la Cindy Crawford and Jerry Hall— I wanted big, polished hair,” Butler says.  ”To create lots of volume, hold and lift, I began by applying Moroccanoil Root Boost to the roots of Kate’s damp hair and then blanketed her locks with Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse. Using the Moroccanoil Paddle Brush, I blow dried the hair in large sections,” says Butler, who then divided the hair...

Get The Look: Jessica Alba at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards

Always gorgeous, Jessica Alba did not disappoint with her look created by celebrity hairstylist Davy Newkirk for tonight’s 2014 MTV Movie Awards. The look was what Newkirk called a playful, modern twist on Hollywood glam — full of glossy, simple loose waves. So perfect for one of her first appearances of spring! In order to recreate this look, follow these steps from Newkirk using products from John Frieda: Newkirk started by applying John Frieda Luxurious Volume Fine to Full Blow-Out Spray all over Jessica’s wet hair. Then he blew out her hair using a large round brush to give her tons of volume and a lot of shine. After blow drying, Newkirk parted her hair into 2 inch sections (starting from the nape and working up). Then he curled the hair...

One of the more fun red carpets of the season is the MTV Movie Awards, and tonight, CLEAR Scalp & Hair celebrity stylist Jen Atkin styled Jenna Dewan-Tatum for the red carpet. Love the look? Here’s how to steal it! How-to: 1.       Spray roots with Kevin Murphy Anti-Gravity Volumizing spray and work Leanor Greyl Mousse through from roots to ends. 2.       Rough dry your hair to remove about 80% of the moisture. 3.       Using a medium size round brush, brush your hair and set with large Velcro rollers on top of crown. 4.       Remove the rollers. Create a center part.  Take one inch vertical sections, spray with Oribe Super Fine hairspray and curl with a 1 1/4″ T3 twirl curling iron. Continue to spray each section...

Steal the Look: Kate Mara at the Transcedence premiere

Celebrity makeup artist Coleen Campbell-Olwell used Orlane products to create Kate Mara’s  look for last week’s red carpet premiere of Transcendence. “For Kate’s look, she wore a gorgeous, gold Valentino dress with swept-up hair, so we decided to do bold and metallic shadows on her eyes with a pop of color and luminous, radiant skin,” Campbell-Olwell said, who started by massaging in Orlane’s Super-Moisturizing Light Cream for extra hydration. ” This product is a staple in my kit!  It really preps the skin so that the foundation goes on smoothly,” she says. Campbell-Olwell then dabbed on Orlane’s Absolute Skin Recovery Eye Contour under her eyes.  ”Next, I mixed two drops of the Morning Recovery Concentrate into...

Wishing I could unsee the unseen acne I’ve now seen!

Wishing I could unsee the unseen acne I’ve now seen!

There’s few things more annoying than a major breakout just before a big event. But what if you could see that breakout weeks or even months in advance? Then, you might be about to take preventive steps to ward it off before it occurs! A few weeks ago, I was excited to fly out to Manhattan Beach, California for Neutrogena’s Skin Health Summit. I learned so much there that I’m absolutely going to be sharing in the days and weeks to come, but first I had to share this crazy photo. At Neutrogena’s corporate headquarters, they have a (scary) awesome acne camera known as a Clinical Skin Imager. See those little red fluorescent spots?  That’s unseen acne. Breakouts that have yet to occur – but are already under the surface, creating...
